Piezo Product Series

Complete valve control. Inside a single switch.

The PTF-22-PDC connects directly between your power supply and solenoid valve. No controller. No additional hardware. All logic, timing, and hygiene functions live inside the M22 body, programmable via USB, rated at 50 million activations, sealed to IP69K.

No external controller. No extra hardware. Just wire it in.

Standard piezo switches pass a signal to a separate controller, which then drives the valve. The PTF-22-PDC eliminates the controller entirely. The MCU, output driver, firmware, and all programmable logic sit inside the M22 switch body. Wire it between power and valve and it works.

No moving parts, nothing to wear out, seize, or corrode. Solid stainless steel face, IP69K sealed, rated at 50 million activations. Less than 10µA standby enables battery operation for remote installations.

Touch accessibility
Accessible to everyone. By design.
Standard piezo switches require 3 to 5 N to activate. The PTF-22-PDC activates at a standard 0.5 N, adjustable down to 0.25 N, making it usable by children, elderly users, and anyone with limited hand strength or dexterity. Fully operable with one hand or one finger.

The business case
Real cost savings. Simplified installation. Significant upgrade.

A conventional intelligent shower control requires a piezo switch, a separate controller board, an enclosure, and a wiring harness connecting them. The PTF-22-PDC replaces all of that with one part. The hardware reduction delivers measurable cost savings. Installation is reduced to three connections in a standard 22mm cutout. And the functional upgrade in programmable compliance, adjustable sensitivity, and battery operation comes at no added complexity.

Lower BOM cost — controller, enclosure, and harness removed
Simplified installation — one part to mount, three wires to connect
One part number to platform across your shower product range
Complete system
MCU, output driver, and all logic inside the M22 body. Direct connection to power and valve.
Fully programmable
Flow time, hygiene flush, sensitivity, lockout, and valve type. All set via USB before deployment.
Battery capable
<10µA standby enables long-life battery operation for remote and retrofit installations.
No seal to fail
Solid stainless steel face, no moving parts, IP69K. No O-rings, no gaskets, no maintenance access.

Your installation. Our solution.

Whatever your application requires, voltage, valve type, programming mode, or deployment environment, the PTF-22-PDC adapts. It is not a product built for one scenario; it is a platform built to cover them all.

Power supply
6V to 24V DC

Runs on mains, battery, or solar. The <10µA standby current makes multi-year battery life realistic for remote or outdoor installations where no mains power is available.

Valve type
Latching or non-latching

Drives any solenoid valve. Non-latching valves get continuous power while open. Latching valves receive a configurable pulse to open and close; pulse time is adjustable to match any valve manufacturer's specification.

Output behaviour
Three operating modes
First press opens the output, second press closes it. The valve stays open as long as the user wants. Simple toggle for installations that need full manual control.
Touch sensitivity
From 0.25N upward

Sensitivity is set in software, not hardware. Set it feather-light for accessibility applications, or firmer to reduce false activations in high-traffic or vibrating environments. Senses through up to 3mm of metal surface.

Housing & customisation
Any format, fully custom

The PTF-22-PDC is available in every housing format offered in the PT Series range — flat, bevel, recessed, illuminated — in stainless steel or aluminium. Material grade, surface finish, custom graphics, and engravings are all specifiable. M22 and larger formats available. Contact us with your requirements.

Hygienic by design
No crevices. No traps.

Flush solid metal face with no gaps, seams, or mechanical parts for bacteria or moisture to accumulate. IP69K sealed to 100 bar pressure wash. No O-rings to degrade, no moving parts to corrode, no scheduled maintenance required.

Set once. Works forever.

All parameters are configured via the Piezo USB software before installation. Values are stored in non-volatile memory and survive power cycles.

The same switch, programmed for each installation: shower facilities with Legionella-compliant hygiene flush schedules, emergency eyewash stations with weekly activation timers, drinking fountains with flow time and lockout control. Every application, one platform.

Flow time
How long the valve stays open on each activation. Configurable from milliseconds to hours.
Security time
Maximum active time before automatic shut-off. Safety backstop for any fault condition.
Product lockout
Minimum wait between activations. Prevents repeated use within a set interval.
Touch sensitivity
Adjustable force threshold from 0.25N upward. Set in software, not hardware.
Automatic hygiene flush
Scheduled valve activation after inactivity: 24h, 48h, or 72h cycles, configurable duration, with a smart mode that resets the timer after each use.

Automatic flushing and water hygiene control: the engineering guide
Automatic flushing controls water age at selected outlets by opening the valve on a timer, so water standing in a low-use branch is replaced without anyone walking the building. It applies to outlets used rarely or not at all, and it works alongside temperature and disinfectant control rather than replacing them. The two settings that decide whether it works are the interval, taken from the site's regime, and the duration, derived from the branch volume and the flow actually available at the outlet.
How automatic hygiene flushing works: intervals, duration, smart mode, delay
A hygiene flush is a timed opening of the valve at an outlet, used to replace water that has been standing in a low-use branch. Four settings describe most regimes: how often the flush runs, how long it runs, whether user activity resets the timer, and when the schedule starts after commissioning. The interval comes from the site's regime; the duration is derived from the branch volume and the flow actually available at the outlet.
Accessibility requirements for taps, showers and flush controls: ADA and its equivalents
Accessibility rules govern how a tap, shower, or flush control is operated rather than what it looks like. In the United States an operable part must work with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching or twisting, and at no more than 22.2 newtons. Meeting that ceiling is a threshold rather than an achievement, but operating well below it is not wasted, because it widens the range of people who can use the control and leaves margin as a mechanism ages.
Battery-powered flushing: hygiene control where mains power does not reach
Many outlets that need automatic flushing have no mains supply, and where an electrical supply has to be added the associated work can block or delay a retrofit. A battery-powered controller removes that dependency, so a flushing control can be fitted at outlets identified as needing one without an electrical installation. Whether it lasts over a service life measured in years is a power budget question rather than a battery choice.
