A door release or request-to-exit (REX) button is the most used control on any entrance, and the first to fail once it depends on moving parts. RNC Technologies door exit buttons are solid-state piezo switches: a stainless steel face with no moving parts, sealed to IP69K, rated IK10 and rated at 50 million activations, built to keep working through years of pushing, pulling and forced-entry attempts.
The same technology forms sealed metal keypads for PIN entry at gates, doors and intercoms. There is no membrane and no mechanical contact, so rain, ice, cleaning agents and deliberate abuse do not change how the button behaves from one press to the next. Paired with card or fob readers, these piezo keypads give access control systems a single hardened interface for PIN entry, request-to-exit and door release functions across a building.
The thicker the surface, the tougher the product.
Most piezo solutions can only sense through thin materials, typically 0.5mm. That limits the front surface to a thin faceplate that can be dented, drilled, or punched through.
RNC senses reliably through surfaces up to 3mm thick. Going from 0.5mm to 1.5mm or 3mm stainless steel transforms the front panel from a component into structural armor. The housing itself becomes the anti-vandal solution. No separate faceplate, no weak point, no compromise.
