Your switch. With a brain.
PT Plus puts an onboard MCU inside any PT switch body from 22mm. The result is a piezo switch that thinks - adjusting its own sensitivity in real time, running programmable logic, communicating with your system, and diagnosing itself. It fits the same panel cutout and looks identical from the front. What changes is everything it can do.

Six things a standard switch cannot do.
Each capability below solves a specific problem that standard piezo switches hit in demanding applications. You may need one of them. You may need all six.
Standard piezo requires 3N or more - difficult for children, elderly users, or anyone with reduced hand strength. PT Plus sensitivity is software-configurable down to 0.25N, comparable to a smartphone screen. One hardware SKU, tunable per deployment.
Piezo crystals change their output with temperature. In cold weather, a standard switch becomes noticeably harder to press. PT Plus monitors temperature continuously and adjusts sensitivity in real time, so your product works the same in January as in July.
Flow time, hygiene flush cycles, lockout periods, security timeouts, latching or momentary solenoid valve control - all configurable in the switch itself. For sanitary applications, PT Plus can replace the entire control electronics, driving a solenoid valve directly.
PT Plus connects natively to whatever architecture your product runs on, from embedded MCUs over I2C to industrial PLCs over Modbus RTU to automotive body electronics over LIN. No protocol converters, no bridging firmware.
For emergency call stations, safety equipment and critical infrastructure, PT Plus can respond to a poll confirming it is fully operational. Advanced variants include mechanical and electrical self-diagnostics.
A standard piezo switch face is 0.5mm stainless steel. PT Plus allows that front surface to be up to 3mm thick. A 3mm stainless face cannot be dented, scratched through or forced. The switch still activates with a normal touch.
The full control system. Inside the switch body.
MCU, signal processor, communication stack, power management, output driver, all inside a standard M22 body. No external PCB. No controller enclosure. No additional wiring beyond power and output.

It knows the difference between a press and the rain.
A standard piezo switch reacts to force - any force. Rain, vibration, a knock on the panel. PT Plus analyses the full signal from each touch event. A finger press has a distinct profile that differs from water impact, vibration or mechanical shock. The onboard processing recognises the difference and only triggers on an intentional press.
Advanced variants go further, using trained models built from thousands of real-world activation and false-activation events. The result is reliable operation in environments where a standard switch fails: pressure washdown, constant vibration, outdoor use in driven rain or hail.
Speaks your system's language.
Whatever architecture your product runs on, PT Plus connects to it natively. No protocol converters, no adapters, no bridging firmware.
Direct MCU-to-MCU communication. Supported by virtually every microcontroller and single-board computer on the market.
High-speed synchronous bus for tight board-level integration where speed and low overhead matter.
Multi-device sensor bus. Add PT Plus alongside other I2C sensors on a shared two-wire bus without dedicated chip-select lines.
The industrial standard for PLCs and SCADA. PT Plus registers map directly into your process control architecture.
Differential signaling designed for noisy environments and long cable runs. Standard in industrial automation and automotive platforms.
Automotive body electronics standard. Cost-effective single-wire interface for vehicle interior and body control modules.
Does PT Plus fit your product?
PT Plus is always specified for a specific application. Here is how it maps to common use cases.
PT Plus drives the solenoid valve directly and manages all timing logic - flow time, hygiene flush, lockout. Operates on battery. No separate controller needed.
Real-time temperature calibration keeps sensitivity consistent year-round. DSP eliminates false activations from rain, vibration and thermal shock.
Sub-1N sensitivity makes the switch accessible for all users including children and the elderly. A meaningful product differentiator for residential buildings, hotels and healthcare facilities.
Self-diagnostic capability lets your system poll the switch and receive confirmation it is operational. Reduces maintenance cost and increases compliance confidence.
Operation through 3mm solid stainless steel means no exposed switch mechanism to tamper with, defeat or damage. The panel surface is completely solid.
Thick stainless panels are standard in food processing and industrial environments. PT Plus activates through them reliably, while active calibration compensates for temperature changes.
All the building blocks exist. We configure them for you.
PT Plus is built on a modular platform. The switch body, format and diameter are selected from the standard PT Series range. The onboard firmware is then set to match your application: sensitivity level, output behaviour, timing parameters, communication protocol, diagnostic requirements.
The process starts with a conversation about what your product needs to do. We confirm the right configuration, produce a sample, and align on any application-specific adjustments before series production.
